I pitched, reported, helped design and led the execution of this interactive series for OZY, a human-centered and data-driven deep dive into the many faces and facets of homelessness in America. I focused not only on exploring root causes of this crisis, but also spotlighting innovative solutions. Throughout my reporting, I spoke with dozens of people facing housing insecurity to build trust, access and sourcing in hard-to-reach communities — from Native communities in Seattle, to trans youth, to college students living unhoused.

I led the execution of this original series exploring how elder care is experienced in Black communities. The series examined everything from political momentum behind “Universal Family Care,” to research showing that Black women face a widening “kin gap,” to an elder care center opened by Harriet Tubman considered to be among the first nursing homes that served Black people.
